The Spanish Quarter is the scene of yet another robbery involving an American tourist. A 34-year-old Neapolitan man was arrested by the State Police.

On Monday afternoon, the State Police stopped a 34-year-old from Naples, already known to the police, for a case of snatching theft.

The investigation, conducted by the agents of the Montecalvario Police Station, focused on a robbery that took place on October 11th in Vico Speranzella, in the Spanish Quarters, to the detriment of a American tourist.

The thief allegedly stole an expensive watch from the victim's wrist and then fled on a scooter driven by an accomplice. The descriptions provided by the tourist, along with footage from surveillance cameras in the area, allowed investigators to reconstruct the incident and identify the suspect.

Arrest validated and prison sentence ordered

Yesterday afternoon, the officers tracked down the 34-year-old in the Pignasecca area and, during a search of his home, found some clothes compatible with those worn during the crime.

Today, the court upheld the arrest and ordered the suspect to be remanded in custody.
