Numerous people have been fined and reported, paying dearly for their uncivilized behavior. Mayor Zinno urges residents to work together to keep the city clean.
New cameras and inspectors are making illegal dumping more difficult.
In particular, the environmental inspectors, during day and night shifts, found waste material in via Gramsci, dumped without any authorization and after having viewed the images from the cameras connected to the control room in the Municipal Police command, they tracked down and identified the owner.
Subsequently, the Carabinieri of the Forestry Nucleus of Naples proceeded to report him to the criminal court, in addition to an administrative sanction and the obligation to remove the illegally dumped material to restore the state of the places.
Another activity instead involved a citizen resident in Portici who was traveling to San Giorgio a Cremano to dump special waste. Also in this case, the inspectors took action and together with the Municipal Police, investigations were started to trace the person responsible for the crime who was reported and fined.
“These are two examples of the investigation and sanctioning process that we are carrying out to fight uncivilized people – says Mayor Giorgio Zinno. The cameras have been positioned throughout the territory and are connected to the operations room of the Municipal Police command”.
"Their presence on the field, combined with surveillance technology, will strengthen the fight against illegal dumping that we have been pursuing for some time," Zinno continues. "It is understood that everyone must do their part, committing to respecting the rules and behaving correctly to live in a healthy, civil and clean environment. With everyone's commitment, we can do a lot for our city."
