The participants are composed of 529 individual singers, of which 290 are men, equal to 54,82%, and 239 are women representing 45,18% of the total. In addition, there are 35 groups competing. The majority of the applications come from Northern Italy (203 requests), followed by the South (189) and the Center (153). Lazio stands out at a regional level with 96 participants, followed by Campania and Lombardy. In total, 19 artists born abroad have decided to compete, together with 38 minor artists.

Selections and Live on Rai 2 and Rai Radio2

The Music Commission, chaired by Carlo Conti, has selected the first 46 artists who will take part in the live auditions in Rome on October 23. The selections will take place in Sala A on Via Asiago. From the participants, 24 artists will be chosen who will participate in the “elimination rounds”. The first four episodes of “Sanremo Giovani” will be broadcast in the late evening on Rai 2 and Rai Radio2 on November 12, 19, 26 and December 3, with Alessandro Cattelan as host.

The selections will culminate in the semi-final on December 10 and, subsequently, in the final on December 18 which will take place in prime time on Rai 1 from the Teatro del Casinò in Sanremo. The artists will be evaluated by the Musical Commission which will decree the four “New Proposals” for the Sanremo Festival 2025.
