Difficult day for public transport in Naples due to the strike called by the Orsa union, which has caused serious inconvenience to citizens. The mobilization, involving various categories of local public transport workers, has stopped most of the lines, with significant impacts on funiculars and subways, leaving thousands of commuters waiting for alternative solutions.
At the moment, the Central Funicular is the only one still in operation, while the Montesanto and Mergellina are at a standstill, creating significant difficulties in connecting the city centre to the hilly areas. The situation is not improving for those who use the subway: both Line 1, essential for moving between the centre and the outskirts, and Line 6, which connects Fuorigrotta with Mergellina, have been suspended, increasing the load on the few surface transports that remain operational.
Despite the limitations, the participation in the strike for surface transport, including buses and trams, is currently around 20%. However, this figure could change in the coming hours, with a possible increase in participation during the most critical time slots.
