A tannery located in solofra, in the province of Avellino, was placed under seizure by the Carabinieri of the Serino Forestry Unit, as part of operations aimed at combating pollution of the Sarno river.
The company is accused of discharging industrial wastewater directly into the sewer system without the proper permits. The owner, a 40-year-old local businessman, was charged for never having obtained the Single Environmental Authorization.
Furthermore, during the checks, it emerged that the tannery was emitting substances into the atmosphere without the necessary authorizations.
