Elvira Alfieri is currently under house arrest as part of an investigation that also involves her brother, Franco Alfieri, mayor of Capaccio Paestum and president of the Province of Salerno, currently suspended from both positions and detained in prison.
The investigation, conducted by the Guardia di Finanza of Eboli and Salerno, concerns alleged irregularities in the procurement procedures for public works, specifically the upgrade and energy efficiency of the public lighting system in Capaccio-Paestum.
The tenders, won by Dervit Spa, were allegedly influenced by the suspects to favor the company. The other four suspects, including Vittorio De Rosa and Alfonso D'Auria, also denied the charges.
