The three young Foggia fans, aged 13, 17 and 21, were called Samuele Del Grande, Michele Biccari and Gaetano Gentile, who lost their lives last night in a dramatic road accident on state road 93, between Potenza and Melfi. The boys were returning to Foggia after following the Rossoneri team in the away match against Potenza, when the minivan they were travelling in collided head-on with a car.
The violent impact also involved a bus carrying other Foggia fans.

Numerous messages of condolence, including that of the bishop of Foggia-Bovino, Monsignor Giorgio Ferretti: “As an ecclesial community, we are close to the families of the young people who tragically passed away. May the Risen Lord give peace to these young people of ours and comfort to those who face mourning and suffering.” Meanwhile, the prosecutor's office Potenza has opened an investigation to shed light on the causes of the accident, trying to understand the exact dynamics of the tragic crash that took the lives of three very young people and plunged an entire city into grief.
