There are a total of 12 people linked to the group of the boss Nicola Rullo 'o nfamone, still at large) who participated in the kidnapping and physical violence against a young merchant from Poggioreale and his father. Eleven are in prison or under house arrest (including 3 women)
Article Key Points
The attack, carried out for the purpose of extortion for an alleged debt of 365 thousand euros, lasted about 12 hours. The victim, a 26-year-old, was savagely beaten with baseball bats and a stone, suffering a real ordeal. The kidnapping was triggered by a debt contracted with a business partner, engaged to Rullo's niece.
The lightning investigation of the flying squad and the arrests
Thanks to the father's complaint and a lightning-fast investigation by the Flying Squad, the police traced the apartment where the beating had taken place. Here they found traces of the crime and identified the perpetrators.
The investigations revealed a well-structured organization: some members of the group kept an eye on the area, others actively participated in the violence, while others hid the victim and took her to the hospital.
A consolidated modus operandi?
A disturbing element emerged from the testimonies: the neighbor reported having seen other young people leaving the same apartment with signs of beatings, suggesting that this type of actions may have been committed in the past.
Those arrested are charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and criminal association. Investigations are still ongoing to ascertain any links with other similar incidents.
The kidnapping and the violence therefore originate from an alleged debt of 365 thousand euros contracted by the young man with Marcello Madonna, his partner in the buying and selling of used cars - as reported in Il Roma on newsstands - engaged to the niece (not involved in the affair) of the boss "o' nfamone".
“But have you understood who you have the problem with? With Nicholas Roll. Where is my money? You won't make it tonight." These are the words and threats addressed by Marcello Madonna to the young man. And from that moment the violence began with a first hammer blow. Then continuous beatings with a baseball bat and finally a blow with a stone reducing him to a comatose state on a small balcony of the house.
Then the criminal group also took the victim's father, bringing him into the house in front of his dying son. He too was beaten and threatened with being killed along with his son if they did not repay the debt, which was actually just over 100 thousand euros. But they demanded 365 thousand.
After being beaten, the man was released because he was supposed to withdraw money to obtain the release of his son. But the man went to the police station to report everything. The investigations began and the raid on the apartment in via Nuova del Campo where the police found traces of blood.
But there was no trace of the group and the kidnapped young man. They had escaped to Castel Volturno to the home of an accomplice. The boy was freed after 12 hours and abandoned wounded in front of the Fatebenefratelli hospital.
The rest is history with the arrests at two different times of all the members of the group except the boss Nicola Rullo who continues to be a bird of the woods.
In the Carrino affair, Reginella and Cappello, as Il Roma always writes, would have had the role of lookouts; Di Maio would have ordered the mother to clean the room and acted as a courier for the Panda in which the 26-year-old was traveling after the beating; Maria Rullo would have held him hostage in Castel Volturno before transporting him to the “Fatebenefratelli” hospital.
