As part of their efforts to combat the phenomenon of illegal waste disposal and management, Local Police personnel from the Scampia Operational Unit discovered an illegal WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) dump on Via Anna Maria Ortese, where 43 large household appliances, such as washing machines, boilers, televisions, and ovens, had been illegally stored.
A 39 year old Neapolitan was caught on site while he was trying to remove various electrical and ferrous parts. Local Police proceeded with the criminal seizure of the area, owned by the municipality, where the waste had been stored and to report the thirty-nine-year-old to the judicial authorities for the crimes of illegal waste management and invasion of public land.
During the same operation, two individuals who disposed of household waste outside of opening hours and in unsuitable containers were fined 51,64 euros.
