Air Campania projects itself into the future of sustainable mobility. During the inauguration of the new company headquarters in Avellino, the sole director Antony Acconcia announced a series of innovations that will revolutionize local public transport. Together with the president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca and the president of the regional Transport commission Luca Cascone, the first five electric buses were presented, destined to enhance the service in the city and neighboring municipalities, such as Mercogliano.
"With the next deliveries we will renew 60% of our bus fleet," Acconcia said, highlighting the company's change of pace. "Air Campania, which once had one of the oldest fleets in Italy, now boasts an average age of 9,4 years, compared to the national average of 19,7 years."
Electric buses are a symbol of this renewal.

"We will make pedal-assisted bicycles available to Air Campania travellers, with a 50% reduction in usage costs," Acconcia explained. The project will involve five municipalities in the province of Avellino, including the capital, and five municipalities in the province of Caserta, offering an ecological and integrated alternative to traditional public transport.
Not only new means, but also technological innovation. Acconcia announced the implementation of the "smart poles", already being installed at Avellino and Caserta, which will be completed by the end of the month. These digital devices will provide real-time information on public transport, going beyond scheduled timetables.
"The Campania Region has allocated additional resources to extend this technology to the entire regional territory," added Acconcia, underlining the institution's commitment to improving the traveler experience and promoting an increasingly efficient and sustainable public transport model.
