Chef Antonio Giannetti from Castellammare di Stabia almost made it to the podium at the final of the European competition of the Italian Chefs Federation, which took place in Brussels Palais d'Afrique on the occasion of the Ninth edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World 2024.
This is a very important culinary event throughout the world promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The 24-year-old from Castellammare di Stabia, who lives and works in Munich, took part in the competition, sponsored by Provolone Valpadana DOP to promote Made in Italy products. The Italian Chefs Federation, German Delegation, the Belgian Delegation and the French Delegation took part in the competition.
In all three delegations, 20 chefs per delegation applied (60) of which only 6 were selected per delegation who competed in the semi-final. Antonio Giannetti won the semi-final in Steinfurt (near Dortmund) on 11 November 2024 and therefore went on to the final together with another chef from my delegation (Antonio Locoselli).
The final took place in Brussels on November 18th at the Palais d'Afrique. The two finalists of the three delegations competed.
"I am happy with this beautiful experience full of emotions that was my first competition. But I am already ready to come back next year to win, now I have to focus on the Italian Championship that will be held in February in Rimini and on The best Italian Chef Germany 2025 that will be held in March in Munich. I am charged and I will give my best to also proudly bring the name of my city all over the world", declared an enthusiastic Antonio Giannetti.

It's nice to see a young chef like Antonio Giannetti participating in important competitions, but I wonder if he had more time to prepare better. I hope that next time he can do even better and win.
