Arzano. The danger of the primary substation being built in Arzano is real. Enel, confirmed Arzano councilor Viva, responded to the notification of the city council's denial of the resolution with a letter that holds the mayor and the administration accountable.
"Enel writes and certifies that the administration was aware of the project for about a year and that they agreed on the location. Furthermore,Enel emphasizes that this Primary Cabin is necessary because there is an enormous demand for energy coming from the ASI area and neighboring municipalities".
"We had warned the mayor that it was essential to monitor the situation and intervene politically. The project is by the Campania Region, led by the Democratic Party, and Mayor Aruta is a member of the Democratic Party. All the elements are in place to prevent this substation from being built in our territory.

We recall that Arzano is the second most heavily built-up town in Italy and that, according to the currently drafted PUC (Urban Development Plan), the construction of this cabin would impede the bioclimatic park and sports hall, undermining all the urban planning standards required for its approval and for the well-being of our citizens.

"Unfortunately - concludes De Rosa - in concrete terms the Mayor, apart from having a note sent by the Manager, has not actually implemented any political action that could prevent the realisation of theOpera.
Given the inertia of this administration, which is only engaged in arguing over the next appointments of councillors, we will try, together with all the opposition forces and citizens, to involve the supra-municipal bodies, underlining the gravity of the situation with devastating consequences for the future development of the City of Arzano".

I don't know if the primary cabin should be built or not. But it is clear that the administration has not done enough to inform citizens about this project. We need to have more clarity on the consequences that will be there.
