Avellino. An explosion caused by a gas leak rocked the second-floor apartment of a building on Via Due Principati, on the outskirts of Avellino, precisely on the stretch of road connecting the prison to Bellizzi. The incident, which occurred at 7:30 a.m., caused serious damage to the home.

A 71-year-old woman, the sole occupant of the apartment at the time of the explosion, was immediately rescued on site by 118 paramedics. She was subsequently transferred to the Moscati hospital in Avellino for the necessary medical care.

The firefighters of the provincial command of Avellino intervened promptly to secure the building. Under the coordination of the provincial shift leader and the guard officer, operations were carried out to eliminate the danger and ensure the stability structure.

The Carabinieri of the Avellino radiomobile unit also intervened at the scene of the accident, and began investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the event and carry out the usual surveys.
