A company from Avellino, active in the online trade of goods purchased in other European Union countries, failed to pay VAT for an amount of approximately 9 million euros.

The tax audit was conducted by officials of the Customs and Monopolies Agency – Avellino Customs Office. According to a note from the ADM, “the company purchased goods without applying VAT from other EU countries, to then resell them on the Italian market without paying the tax”.

The Office made use of both the VAT Administrative Cooperation (Clo) and the VIES system for the exchange of data at Community level, reporting the company owner to the competent judicial authorities.
