Benevento. A Romanian citizen was arrested in Telese after being caught attempting to defraud a cashier at a betting shop. The incident was reported by a plainclothes police officer, who observed the suspect attempting to exchange small bills for larger ones, attempting to hand over a smaller sum than the one requested.
The report allowed a police car to intervene and stop the man and take him to the police station. During the transfer, the man reacted aggressively, attacking some officers. For this reason, in addition to the attempted fraud, he was also arrested for assault and injury to a public official.
Subsequently, during a search, the Romanian citizen was found in possession of a sum of money equal to fifteen hundred euros, the origin of which he was unable to justify.
