Benevento. A Romanian citizen was arrested in Telese after being caught attempting to scam a cashier at a betting shop. The incident was reported by a plainclothes police officer, who noticed the suspect attempting to exchange small denomination banknotes for larger ones, trying to hand over a smaller sum than the one requested in exchange.
The report allowed a police car to intervene and stop the man and take him to the police station. During the transfer, the man reacted aggressively, attacking some officers. For this reason, in addition to the attempted fraud, he was also arrested for assault and injury to a public official.
Subsequently, during a search, the citizen Rumanian he was found in possession of a sum of money equal to one thousand five hundred euros, the provenance of which he was unable to justify.
