At the provincial road SP562 in the Finocchiara area, along the Mingardo beach, the works for the coastal defense intervention in correspondence with the tunnel will be delivered.
I works they will actually begin a few days later, the material time to set up the construction site with the necessary safety measures, have the necessary construction equipment arrive, and organize the work teams.
Traffic will be guaranteed in one-way alternating mode by means of traffic lights. The works should be completed in good time for the beginning of the tourist season.
The intervention, financed with PNRR funds for an amount of approximately 3,5 million euros, will be carried out to begin to remedy the damage frequently caused by the action of the wave motion during the most severe marine weather events, when large sinkholes are opened in the roadway.

With this project, which is a first lot separated from a larger general project made ready for construction by acquiring all the authorizations issued by the relevant Authorities, a bulkhead of piles will be built on the sea side of the embankment that will consolidate it definitively, then visually masking it with the installation of natural boulders that will have a predominantly aesthetic function.
The expected result is to definitively stabilize the road embankment, thus making the road safe, which is a fundamental artery for access to Camerota, consequently guaranteeing the necessary conditions for vehicular circulation.
During the event that will be held on Thursday at 11,30, the mayor, Mario Salvatore Scarpitta, will illustrate the project aimed at consolidating and securing the road embankment in a section frequently damaged by wave motion.
The project involves the construction of a bulkhead of poles and the installation of natural boulders to improve the stability and aesthetics of the road, which is essential for access to Camerota and for the viability of our area.

The work looks very important for the road, but I don't know if it will be finished before the tourist season. One-way traffic can cause problems, but I hope the work is done well. It is important that the road is safe for everyone.
