Gricignano di Aversa. Late yesterday afternoon, a tragedy occurred on State Road 335, near the Gricignano di Aversa exit. For reasons still unclear, a tractor-trailer crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a car. The impact caused both vehicles to plunge down an embankment adjacent to the roadway.
Two teams of Fire Brigades promptly intervened at the scene of the accident, one from the Aversa detachment and the other from marcianiseFirefighters freed the driver of the car, a 29-year-old man, from the wreckage, but despite the prompt assistance of 118, the young man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two occupants of the truck were injured, but their lives are not in danger. To facilitate the rescue and recovery operations, a crane sent by the Provincial Command of Naples was used.
Law enforcement is working to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
