Campania took the lead in the Classic, Innovative, and Pandoro Panettone categories of the "Best Panettone in the World 2024" Championship, held by the International Federation of Pastry, Ice Cream, and Chocolate Manufacturers (FIPGC), on November 17 and 18 at the Gustus professional agri-food, food, and wine technology fair, part of the Mostra d'Oltremare exhibition center in Naples.
The Best Savory Panettone is from Tuscany, the decorated one is from Milan. The first place in the category of Panettone The classic was Il maestro pasticcere by Pietro Sparago, from Centurano (Caserta), while the winner in the Innovative Panettone category was Domenico Manfredi from Teggiano (Salerno), who turned "Tu si 'na cosa grande", Gaetano Pesce's tribute to Naples, into a panettone.
First in the savory category was Beatrice Volta, a master pastry chef from Pistoia, who created a panettone with a spritz center wrapped in aperitif ingredients (tomato, olives, peanuts).

For pandoro, first place on the podium goes to Raffaele Romano of Solofra (Avellino). Meanwhile, throughout Italy, as Christmas approaches, numerous competitions are being held to reward the best panettone: in Rome, the Panettone Maximo, a national artisanal panettone festival at the Salone, and the National Panettone and Pandoro Fair are scheduled for December 1st.
Kermesse born in 2008 scheduled for Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December with a preview scheduled for Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November in Vetralla (Viterbo) at Il Regno di Babbo Natale. In Milan on November 21 the presentation of Re Panettone is scheduled.
