Casavatore. The municipal administration will celebrate on Monday, November 25, with the event “Love knows no abuse”, the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women”.
The celebration will begin at 15:30 pm with the parking, in Piazza Di Nocera, of the camper of the Anti-Violence Center (Cav) that operates in the area, whose operators will provide information and advice on the meaning of the day dedicated to the female gender.
Subsequently, at 16:00 pm, the mayor Luigi Maglione will pay homage with a bunch of flowers to the red bench located at the public park "Giuseppe Di Matteo" in via Vico and dedicated to fellow citizen Lucia Caiazza, victim of gender violence in 2020; the mayor will also plant a young olive tree, a tree symbol of peace.
At 17:00 pm the town hall will be lit up in red, the symbolic color of the fight against violence against women. Afterwards, always in Piazza Di Nocera, a tree will be set up by a delegation of minors participating in the territorial educational laboratory "The crew of artists"; the aim is to raise awareness among the youngest on the importance of respect and equality.
The women taken in charge by the Anti-Violence Center will then express testimonies and thoughts on their experience and their own support path. Finally, within the initiative "Men speak to men" representatives of the authorities present will intervene and read writings and messages with the aim of also inducing the male part of the local society to an active commitment against gender violence.

The event seems to be an important initiative to raise awareness in the community about violence against women. I hope that there will be many participants and that the city administration will continue to work on these issues. It is essential.
