Caserta – Alberto Cervella, 56, a tourist bus driver for a well-known Caserta company, was acquitted of the charge of serious threat and illegal possession of a bladed weapon. The sentence was issued by the Criminal Judge of the Court of Spoleto, Dr. Teresa Grano, during the pre-trial hearing.

The facts date back to a year ago, when Cervella, originally from and resident in Calvi Risorta, was in Cascia for work reasons driving a tourist bus. During a stop, a heated argument broke out with the owner of a competing company. According to the complaint filed against him, the driver pulled out a knife and threatened to kill the other man.

Following the episode, the Carabinieri of the local station intervened, seized the knife and reported Cervella to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Spoleto. The public prosecutor immediately validated the seizure of the weapon. Assisted by the lawyers Gaetano and Raffaele Crisileo and Gaetano Petrone, Alberto Cervella has always denied the accusations, maintaining that the seized knife had not been used to intimidate and that the incident had been misunderstood.

The Judge, accepting the defense's arguments, deemed the evidence to support the accusation in court to be unfounded and therefore acquitted the driver. Cervella's acquittal closes a case that had raised concerns in the local community, especially among workers in the tourism sector, often under pressure due to competition and work-related stress. The man, after months of waiting, was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief and peacefully resume his professional activity.
