Caserta. A 54-year-old man, originally from Naples, left the San Patrignano community in the Rimini area yesterday morning, where he was under house arrest for robbery and possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing. After stealing a car from one of the facility's operators, he headed at full speed toward Naples, driving along the highway.
Having arrived in Caserta in the afternoon and left without cash, he attempted to rob a shop in via Sud Piazza d'Armi, armed with a box cutter. The robbery was unsuccessful thanks to the cold blood of the clerk, who refused to hand over the money and took advantage of a moment of distraction to alert 112.
Aware of the imminent arrival of the Carabinieri, the man abandoned the robbery attempt and tried to escape on board the Fiat 500X stolen a few hours earlier. However, the military personnel of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the local Company intercepted and blocked him in via Giovanni Bosco, in Caserta.
During the personal and vehicle search, the Carabinieri found in the man's trouser pocket the cutter, with an 18 cm blade, used both for the theft of the car and for the attempted robbery. Furthermore, some doses of cocaine were found inside the glove compartment of the car, which were seized.
The 54-year-old was taken to the barracks and, after the formal procedures, transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison. He will have to answer for escape, robbery and attempted robbery.

Let's hope he is punished for his crimes and reflects on his actions.
Another sad story of crime. Hopefully this person can get the help he needs to get out of this dark tunnel.
