Naples. The Vanella Grassi clan, which controls the so-called Perrone area in Secondigliano, was smuggling cell phones, drugs, and SIM cards into the Secondigliano prison using a sophisticated drone. The discovery was made by officers from the Naples Flying Squad, who arrested ten people this morning.
The operation was carried out by delegation of the District Attorney. Precautionary measures issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples, at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, were executed against twelve people (10 of whom are in prison, 2 under house arrest).
All seriously accused, to varying degrees, of the crimes of association concerning drug trafficking and the unauthorised access to devices suitable for communication for prisoners, facts aggravated by the mafia method and the aim of facilitating the clan of the "Vanella Grassi".
During the investigations conducted by SISCO of Naples, with the operational support of the SCO, the Naples Flying Squad and specialized personnel from the Forensic Police, evidence was acquired regarding the operation of a criminal syndicate routinely dedicated to introducing packages containing narcotics and cell phones into the Naples-Secondigliano Penitentiary Centre using drones.
During the investigation, three individuals were arrested on two separate occasions and over 2 kg of narcotics, a drone equipped with a camera, as well as numerous cell phones and phone cards were seized.

What a sad reality, we hope that the arrest of these people will help stop these illegal activities.
What a shame, we hope this operation can help reduce the power of these clans!
It's incredible how they manage to organize all this from prison, the situation is truly worrying.
It seems incredible to me that there are still people using drones for drug trafficking. We need to be more attentive to what is happening around us.
Arresting the guilty is right, but we must also understand how these organizations manage to work without being stopped first.
Police operations are important but prevention is also needed to prevent these things from reaching prisons, it is a serious problem.
I don't understand how you can get cell phones into prison, it should be safer. And then using drones seems a bit strange but maybe it works.
It is a worrying thing that there are organizations so powerful in an area like Secondigliano. We hope that the authorities can stop all this.
