He was under house arrest for a precautionary measure and regularly enjoyed medical permission to undergo blood transfusions, necessary for a form of thalassemia from which he suffers. But the routine of a 55-year-old from Casalnuovo was transformed into a disturbing scenario during a blitz by the Carabinieri of the local station.
Yesterday evening, the military raided the man's apartment for a thorough search.

But that's not all. Continuing the search, the agents found suspicious tools that indicate a counterfeiting activity. Among the seized materials, an ASL stamp, clippings of round stamps attributable to other bodies in the Region Campania and editable files on the man's computer. These documents appeared to be designed to create fake medical certificates, raising suspicions that they could be used to facilitate illicit activities or cover unauthorized travel.
In addition to the counterfeiting tools, the military found 1.215 euros in cash, the origin of which is now the subject of further investigation. The man was immediately arrested for illegal possession of a firearm. The authorities are continuing their investigations to clarify the use of the material found, in particular the files and stamps, and to verify any links with other illegal activities.
