An era is coming to an end in Sant'Antonio Abate. The renowned "Grand Hotel La Sonrisa," known to many as the "Castle of Ceremonies," is set to close its doors permanently. The Supreme Court of Cassation's ruling, which upheld the illegal development of the area, has cleared the way for the municipality to acquire the property and revoke its permits.
Mayor Ilaria Abagnale announced the start of procedures that will lead to its closure by the end of 2024. "A difficult decision, but necessary to comply with the law and protect public property," she stated.

The Municipality, for its part, has ensured maximum transparency and has announced a series of meetings with citizens to involve everyone in defining the future of the "Castle"We want this property to once again become a point of reference for the community," Mayor Abagnale emphasized.
The news has caused a great stir among the local population and fans of the television program that made the structure famous. Many are wondering what the future of the complex will be and whether it will be possible to enhance it in another way, perhaps transforming it into a public asset available to all.

A difficult decision, but the law must be respected. We hope that the future of the 'Castello delle Cerimonie' can still bring benefits to the community.
What a shame, it was such an iconic place for the city. Hopefully it can have a new life in the future!
