The inauguration of "Clean Room 31" is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday the 12th, at 14.30:31 pm, at the Space Factory Group headquarters in Naples, at Via E. Gianturco XNUMX.
This new facility will assemble new generation satellites, such as IRENESAT-ORBITAL, and MiniLabs, intelligent mini-laboratories intended for biopharma experiments in microgravity.
Among others, the following will be present: Mariano Bizzarri, Professor of Clinical Pathology at Sapienza University of Rome and Director of the National Laboratory of Space Biomedicine; Antonio Blandini, President of CIRA; Luigi Carrino, President of the Campania Aerospace District; Massimo Comparini, Managing Director of Leonardo's Space Business Unit and President of Thales Alenia Space Italia; Mariafelicia de Laurentis, astrophysicist; Valeria Fascione, Councilor for Research of the Campania Region; Amedeo Manzo, President of BCC Napoli; Mario Mustilli, founder of Studi Finanziari; Norberto Salza, President of Space Factory; and astronaut Roberto Vittori.

IRENESAT-ORBITAL is a microsatellite with control and programmed reentry capabilities, recoverable and reusable, which from 2025 will offer the first commercial service for scientific and biopharma experiments in orbit.
Program partners include Thales Alenia Space Italy, the University of Naples Federico II, CIRA and a network of SMEs. The first satellite, IREOS 0, will be launched in 2025 thanks to an investment by the Space Factory, supported by a Nova+ loan from Intesa Sanpaolo.
MiniLab is a 2U minilaboratory for scientific and biopharmaceutical experiments in microgravity. Currently, the 1.0 model has already successfully conducted four scientific experiments on the International Space Station since 2021.
In 2025, the 2.0 and 3.0 models will be launched, with significant improvements: the MiniLab 2.0 will allow remote monitoring and management of experiments, while the 3.0, installed on the IRENESAT-ORBITAL microsatellites, will also offer the possibility of in-orbit corrective interventions.
