Raffaele Mundo, son of the Casalesi boss, was sentenced by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations at the Court of Naples North, with an abbreviated trial, to 10 years of imprisonment for the crime of attempted murder aggravated by futile motives, committed against FL.
Raffaele Mundo, 26 years old and son of the boss of the Casale Salvatore, alias 'o mister, recently released from prison and subjected to special surveillance, was in pre-trial detention in prison, pursuant to an arrest warrant for a suspect, issued on March 22, 2024, by the Public Prosecutor's Office of North Naples and validated by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations.
The investigation—conducted through wiretaps, interviews with people with knowledge of the facts, and analysis of video surveillance systems and cell phones—has allowed us to reconstruct the exact sequence of events of the serious crime that occurred on February 6, 2024.
On February 6th, the 26-year-old, riding in a car with his partner, encountered the victim, with whom he had previously had an argument, while he was walking in the street in Orta di Atella. He then turned around, chased him, and struck him, causing serious injuries that left him wheelchair-bound. The 22-year-old was diagnosed with a spinal cord injury that caused permanent paralysis of his lower limbs and other serious physical problems.
The Carabinieri investigation—conducted by interviewing people with knowledge of the facts, analyzing video surveillance footage, and conducting technical checks—has allowed them to reconstruct the incident in less than two months and identify Mundo as the alleged perpetrator. The Prosecutor's Office also disputes the aggravating circumstance of the trivial motives for the act, the motive of which is still under investigation. The most likely hypothesis is that of a settling of scores.
