Raffaele Mundo, 26 years old and son of the boss of the Casale Salvatore, alias 'o mister, recently released from prison and subjected to the measure of special surveillance was in pre-trial detention in prison, pursuant to an arrest warrant for a suspect in a crime, issued on 22 March 2024 by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North and validated by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations.
The investigative activities - carried out through environmental and prison wiretaps, questioning of people informed of the facts, analysis of video surveillance systems and cell phones - have made it possible to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the serious criminal act that occurred on February 6, 2024.
Last February 6, the 26-year-old, aboard a car in which he was traveling with his partner, crossed paths with the victim, with whom he had had previous arguments, while he was walking in the street, in Orta di Atella. So he made a U-turn, chased him and ran him over causing serious injuries to the point of leaving him in a wheelchair. In fact, the 22-year-old was found to have a spinal cord injury that caused permanent paralysis of his lower limbs and other serious physical problems.
The investigations of the Carabinieri - conducted by questioning people informed of the facts, analyzing video surveillance footage as well as technical checks - in less than two months, have allowed to reconstruct the incident and identify in Mundo the alleged perpetrator. The Prosecutor's Office also contests the aggravating circumstance of the futile motives of the gesture whose motive is still being investigated. The most plausible hypothesis would be that of a settling of scores.
