The 2024 season of Spazio Körper, the National Dance Production Center, continues with the return of Körperformer, a contemporary dance festival organized by Gennaro Cimmino. The event will take place from December 3rd to 8th at the Sala Assoli of Casa del Contemporaneo in Naples. This project aims to promote the Campania region by offering a platform for young local artists active at the national and European levels.
Promotion of Contemporary Dance
The Körperformer festival is the beating heart of Spazio Körper's activities. For years, the center has supported young talents, garnering recognition both in Italy and abroad, including a nomination for the 2024 Ubu Awards with Francesco Marilungo's "Stuporosa." The program, curated by Gennaro Cimmino, aims to build a community between audiences and artists, promoting dialogue and innovation in contemporary dance.

Programming 2024
The 2024 edition will feature artists such as Roberto Tedesco, Francesco Colaleo, Maxime Freixas, Maria Anzivino, Ginevra Cecere, Viola Russo, Gianmaria Borzillo, Maša Kolar, Nicolas Grimaldi Capitello, Nyko Piscopo, and Adriano Bolognino. Among the performances, "Decisione Consapevole" by Roberto Tedesco will open the festival on December 3rd. This will be followed by the regional premiere of "Ça ira" by Cie MF on December 4th, and "Handle with care" by Funa on December 5th. "Femenine" by Gianmaria Borzillo will be performed on December 6th, while the Cornelia company will present "Hybridus." Adriano Bolognino will close the program with the two-part piece "Your Body is a Battleground" and "Gli Amanti," while on December 15th, the performance "Anima radice" from the KörperYoung course, curated by Susanna Sastro and Flavio Ferruzzi, will take place.

This contemporary dance festival seems to me an interesting initiative for young artists, but I hope there will be other opportunities in the future. It is important to give space to everyone, and Campania has so much to offer.
