The possibility that Alex DelPiero run for president of Italian Football Federation (FIGC) is becoming more and more concrete. February 3, the date set for the FIGC elective Assembly, could see the former Juventus champion as the protagonist in a new challenge, this time off the pitch.
According to rumours collected by Adnkronos, Del Piero would have expressed the “desire to dare” and his candidacy would be at the center of a heated debate in the corridors of Italian football. The incumbent president, Gabriele Gravina, has made the election date official and set the deadline for submitting nominations for the 25th December, but has not yet clarified whether he will run for another term.
Del Piero's candidacy seems to be gaining support among the clubs as well Serie A, who would see him as a charismatic and innovative figure to lead Italian football.
