The fight against illegal building continues, one of the priorities of the Public Prosecutor's Office. In recent days, in execution of a demolition order issued by the Court of Torre Annunziata - Gragnano branch - an illegal warehouse located in via Santa Maria La Carità n. 372, in the municipality of Sant'Antonio Abate, was demolished.

The structure, built without authorization, was composed of eight iron pillars, four trusses with insulated sheet metal roofing and perimeter walls in plastered lapilcemento blocks, with iron doors. The artifact, measuring 14,90 x 6,40 meters and 5,10 meters high, stood on an area subject to numerous constraints:

Zone B2 of urban densification, according to the General Regulatory Plan (PRG);
Landscape constraint, established by the Ministerial Decree of 28 March 1985;
Seismic constraint (seismicity level S=3) established by Regional Council Resolution no. 5447 of 7 November 2002.

The demolition, carried out under the self-demolition regime by the owner himself, avoided expenses for the Municipality and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. This intervention represents an important tool both to restore the violated environmental conditions and to dissuade future building abuses.

The order to demolish the trees was carried out following a ruling dating back to 2001. The operation was also facilitated by the awareness-raising activity conducted by the Prosecutor's Office, which continues to resolutely pursue the objective of protecting the territory and enforcing the current regulations.
