Desiré, Mario Vezza's feature debut, will be released in theaters on November 14th, with a premiere at the Cinema Metropolitan in Naples. The film, which already won Best Film at Alice nella Città – Panorama Italia, is set between the streets of Naples and the Nisida juvenile detention center.
### The plot and the cast
The story revolves around a young woman of Senegalese origins whose life changes radically after her arrest. The protagonist is played by the young Nassiratou Zanre, supported by actors Enrico Lo Verso and Antonella Stefanucci, along with a group of promising young people including Tonia De Micco and Brunella Cacciuni.
The film explores the theme of youth identity and the role of encounters and culture in personal development. The screenplay, written by Mario Vezza together with Fabrizio Nardi and Maurizio Braucci, presents Desiré as a story of growth and self-discovery. In the prison context, the protagonist finds unexpected opportunities that she had never encountered before.

### Synopsis
Desiré is a sixteen-year-old of Senegalese origins who lives in Naples with her drug-addicted mother. Involved in drug dealing, she is arrested and transferred to the juvenile penitentiary of Nisida. During her detention, she embarks on a deep journey of reflection on her life and future choices.
