A 61 year old woman Altavilla Silentina passed away this morning at the “Maria Santissima Addolorata” hospital in Eboli. More than a month ago she had contracted the tetanus and was admitted to the intensive care unit. Despite medical efforts, the patient did not make it.

Investigations to determine the source of the tetanus infection continue. It is suspected that the woman may have contracted the disease while working on the farm or after a recent dental visit. Authorities are still investigating.
