More than 70 messages of solidarity, from “don't give up” to “the truth will come out”, are flooding the Facebook page of Fabio Cagnazzo, the Carabinieri colonel recently arrested for the murder of the fisherman-mayor Angelo Vassallo. Numerous people express their support for the colonel.
“I have never met a person more respectful of the Law than you, a servant who with abnegation and humility has followed its principles. Justice can make mistakes, but in the end it arrives,” writes Roberto, while Salvatore adds: “Come on, commander, don’t give up.”
Another message from Donato reads: “The Colonel Fabio he is a serious person, he has defeated Camorra clans and arrested around 200 fugitives, now he is at the mercy of mercenaries.
He remains and will remain a friend”. Other messages are equally heartfelt: “Those who have walked, fought and suffered with you know that you are as clear as spring water. Nothing and no one can dirty your soul; from injustice we always emerge stronger”.
Francis finally adds: "Your unwavering commitment against corruption and your integrity will not be forgotten. I am sure that justice will triumph, revealing the truth and honoring your sacrifice for what is right."
