Capua. Accused of theft, but acquitted. The judge of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Dr. Honoré Dessì, declared the acquittal of Rita Brognoli, 52, of San Prisco, and Giovanni Pezzulo, 62, of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
The defense's reasons were accepted: lawyer Gaetano D'Orso for Rita Brognoli and lawyers Gaetano and Raffaele Crisileo for Giovanni Pezzulo.
Brognoli and Pezzulo were accused of complicity in the aggravated theft of goods exposed to public trust, to the detriment of a well-known supermarket in Capua, where Brognoli worked as a cashier.
During the service, he allegedly failed to scan some items purchased by Pezzulo, thus failing to issue the receipt. In this way, large quantities of goods were allegedly stolen from the supermarket, sold by cashier Brognoli to Pezzulo (husband of another employee of the same company, also on trial), for a total value - relative to all the people involved in the trial - estimated at around 500 thousand euros, a figure that would represent the alleged damage suffered by the supermarket.
The administrators of the commercial company, represented by the lawyers Nicola Garofalo and Cesare Gesmundo, had joined the trial as civil parties.
