On the occasion of Giffoni Day, the organizers of the renowned festival announced the main content of the 2025 event, which will take place from July 17 to 26. The next edition will be marked by the theme "Becoming Human," focusing on the rediscovery of humanity through responsibility, empathy, and personal growth, in a context where conformism and indifference are being overcome.
The Juries and Sections of the Festival
In 2025, the Festival juries will again offer a valuable opportunity for dialogue and discussion for thousands of young people from 45 different nations and more than 300 Italian locations, divided into various age groups: Elements +3, +6, +10, Generator +13, +16, and +18. The Festival also includes special sections for parents and for films related to real-life and documentary genres. The regulations are due by December 9th, with the jury selection scheduled for February.
Collaborations and Inclusivity
Collaboration with the Salerno Department of Mental Health and other social organizations is important, focusing on young people with eating disorders and unaccompanied minors thanks to the support of the FAMI.

Cinema, Guests and International Events
Films remain the beating heart of the festival, with approximately 4.500 works pre-selected and 130 presented for screenings. Giffoni will continue to be a showcase for film previews and collaborations with major studios, welcoming approximately 250 artistic guests for a free exchange with the young jurors. Various contents will be represented, from film previews to cultural projects beyond national borders, with initiatives involving other countries such as Spain, Germany and Japan.
Giffoni and Sport
The festival will also open to sports fans with the second edition of Giffoni Sport, which in 2024 saw the participation of 50 Sport Ambassadors and an attendance of 10. The program will also include events dedicated to food, music, and the arts, with Torino Music Concept and the Giffoni Food Show, as well as international events dedicated to the promotion of Italian cinema. Continuing its numerous initiatives for 2025, Giffoni intends to extend its positive impact through school and university programs as well as expanding its network of hubs and ambassadors throughout Italy. The program will also be presented at the European and Italian Parliaments, with the support of the Campania Region and the intention to collaborate with the Ministry of Culture.

The Giffoni festival seems to be an interesting and useful event for young people. It is nice to see that there are so many nations participating, but I wonder if the topics covered are really understandable for everyone. Mental health is important but perhaps more communication is needed on how to address these issues. Also, it would be nice to have more details about the films that will be screened and the guests involved, so we know what we can see.
