The "Documento Monumento. C'arte in fotografia volume 3" initiative will take place at the Banco di Napoli Foundation. The event will feature the presentation of the third volume dedicated to UNESCO heritage sites in Campania. The project aims to explore new horizons through photographic images of historic sites.
A journey through Campania sites
The project offers a guide to historical and artistic itineraries, edited by archivist architect Sabrina Iorio, with photographs by Federica Gioffredi. The volume will be presented at Palazzo Ricca and will take readers through the wonders of Campania, from the historic center of Naples to the archaeological remains of Pompeii and Herculaneum, including the Royal Palace of Caserta and San Leucio. The itineraries also include sites such as the church and monastery of Santa Sofia in Benevento, the Amalfi Coast, and Cilento, with the remains of Velia, Paestum, and the Certosa di San Lorenzo in Padula.
Sites and intangible heritage
The journey extends its focus from tangible to intangible heritage, focusing on cultural traditions such as the art of pizza making. This traditional craft represents an important economic segment for the region, intertwined with the culture of the Mediterranean diet. The cultural itinerary is enriched by the "Festa dei Gigli" in Nola and the iconic classic Neapolitan song, in a project that intertwines historical documents with poetic aspects.
The commitment of the Banco di Napoli Foundation
The curation of the volumes is entrusted to a team of experts including Luigi Abetti, Gloria Guida, Sabrina Iorio, Andrea Zappulli, who periodically choose research topics. The project is also supported by the recent registration of the Apodissario Fund of the Historical Archive in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. The presentation will be attended by several academics and personalities from the dissemination and cultural sector.
