The Sorrento Peninsula Award, celebrating its thirtieth anniversary, continues to promote the values of "youth and beauty" in collaboration with the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli".

This award has established itself over time as one of the national reference events in the cultural, theatrical and cinematographic panorama.

### Student involvement and local development

Students are an integral part of initiatives aimed at promoting the territory and preserving the cultural heritage of Southern Italy, focusing on the Euro-Mediterranean area.

Thanks to the Award, the events are conceived as practical workshops that offer students the opportunity to apply the concepts learned during their university courses and to come into contact with innovative forms of cultural entrepreneurship.

### Education and culture for the new generations

The project aims to teach new generations a concept of beauty combined with good practices, countering the phenomenon of youth degradation. One example was the 2024 award ceremony for Leo Gassmann as part of the "M2 Filming Experience - Southern Italy and the Mediterranean" initiative.

### Prestigious collaborations and future projects

Among the highlights of 2024, a workshop on Cinema and the Mediterranean was held at the Giffoni Film Festival, and students served as jurors in an audiovisual contest at the Teatro Tasso. The Banco di Napoli Foundation and Rai Cinema Channel are collaborating on the project. Mario Esposito, artistic director of the Award, announced a rich program of experiences for young people for 2025, emphasizing the importance of exploring and understanding the Mediterranean cultural heritage.

I think that the Sorrentine Peninsula Award is a great initiative, because it promotes young people and culture. Students should be more involved in these projects, so they learn better. It is also important to preserve the cultural heritage of the South, but sometimes it is not clear how to do it. I look forward to seeing how the activities will develop in 2025.
