The matter was brought to the attention of the deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli, to whom a citizen sent the photo asking for immediate intervention. Borrelli promptly relaunched the image on his social channels to solicit a reflection on the state of public safety in Castel Volturno. “Mr. Borrelli, this person is walking around the streets of Pinetamare armed,” we read in the complaint message sent to the deputy. The episode has aroused reactions of fear and dismay among residents, frightened by the idea that someone could be circulating armed in areas frequented by families and children.

The photo had already appeared at the end of October on an Instagram profile, with the author's name and surname, but it is not yet clear whether the rifle is real or a replica.

Several people commented on Borrelli's post, expressing fear and outrage. “I live right near Pinetamare,” writes a user. "I am ashamed of these people; until a year ago you wouldn't hear anything about this, now it's the order of the day. I'm afraid to let my children out of the house, and it's not right that decent people have to live in fear while others feel free to threaten common safety."

Local authorities are now investigating the incident. According to initial information, the young man may already be known to the police.
