Fire on Anm bus – This morning a fire broke out on the engine of bus 182 of the Azienda Napoletana Mobilità (Anm) in Viale Maddalena in Naples. Fortunately, thanks to the timely action of the driver, who secured the passengers, no injuries were reported.
“We express our closeness to the operator and the users on the bus”, declared Angelo Lustro, general secretary of Filt-Cgil Campania. "We now ask Anm to precisely ascertain the causes of this accident and to intervene preventively on the means to avoid the repetition of similar episodes. Safety remains one of the priority issues in the renewal of the national collective labor agreement, together with the economic and regulatory aspects for the recovery of inflation on salaries and for the improvement of work-life balance times".
According to Lustro, the local public transport sector still shows its limitations, due to the lack of adequate resources. “1600 million euros are needed for the National Transport Fund, if we want to plan a service that is up to par, improve the economic and contractual conditions of operators and offer more effective, efficient, safe and sustainable mobility, also for the environment”, concluded the trade unionist.
