Torre del Greco. The professional nurse and palmist on TikTok, Patrizia Esposito, is at the center of a disciplinary proceeding initiated by the ASL Napoli 3, after a complaint from the association “Nessuno Tocchi Ippocrate”.
The association, which protects the rights of healthcare workers, accuses the woman of damaging the image of the category, especially for her fortune-telling activities on social media, in which she receives donations from those seeking answers about their future.
The nurse, active in the Torre Annunziata health district, provided home care for elderly people in the public health system. However, her conduct on social media, which includes colorful and sometimes vulgar videos, has attracted the attention of the ASL and the public. Her “clients” on social media are said to be mostly elderly people, some of whom she met during her work.
The intervention of the ASL comes after the reports of the association, which declared: "This nurse undermines the dignity of the category and we need to clarify, given the involvement of elderly people". The ASL has started the process for a possible suspension, now awaiting the report of the inspection service and the director of the health district 56.
The location of Esposito would have further worsened due to threats and insults addressed, during live webcasts, to those who asked her for explanations. The association also reports alleged incorrect behavior towards the elderly, based on testimonies of family members, doctors and colleagues: "It is not just about fortune telling, but also about aggressive and serious behaviors".
Even the parliamentarian Francesco Emilio Borrelli expressed his opinion on the matter, asking for in-depth checks to ascertain any episodes of negligence in the care of the elderly. In the meantime, the management of the ASL is proceeding with its process, which could lead to suspension and, in the event of further confirmation, to a report to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The fortune-telling nurse's fate will be determined by the outcome of the investigation, but the case raises questions about the balance between private life and public role of health professionals.
