After the home draw against Napoli, Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu spoke frankly about the team's performance and his personal feelings. The Turkish player, who put in a very intense performance, expressed disappointment with the result and his penalty miss, but also acknowledged the long road ahead for Inter in the league.

“I think that, despite the close engagement on Wednesday, today we dominated the match,” said Calhanoglu, referring to the Champions League match against Arsenal. "We deserved something more, we played very well, but we were unlucky. I'm very sorry for the missed penalty: I knew it could happen sooner or later, but it's bad that it happened today, in such an important match for us."

Despite regretting his penalty miss, Calhanoglu looks at the positives: “The numbers are good, we're having a great season and we need to get back on our feet immediately.

The championship is still long and our goal is to continue competing at the highest levels.”

The midfielder then moves on to the match's progress and the difficulties encountered in overcoming Napoli's solid defense. “It was an intense game, with many physical and tactical duels. We often looked for our forwards, but Napoli’s defenders did a great job of blocking us. In the second half we managed to develop our game better on the wings, taking advantage of Dumfries and Dimarco, but we were unable to capitalize. It’s a shame, because I think we deserved more than a 1-1.”

Calhanoglu he then expressed an opinion on this year's competition in Serie A, underlining the balanced level of the tournament: Many teams have strengthened, there have been many new arrivals, and the level has risen. We, on the other hand, have remained practically the same as last year, apart from two or three additions. The championship is long and balanced, and we are giving our all to stay at the top. It's not easy to play every two or three days, especially after tough matches like the one against Arsenal and then immediately against a quality team like Napoli.
