Interview with Donnarumma – Gianluigi Donnarumma, Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, is enjoying a happy and peaceful time in Paris, a city where he finally feels at home. In an interview with SportMediaset, the goalkeeper shared insights into his personal and professional life, starting with a special moment: “It’s a very beautiful time for me, with the birth of my first child. I’m enjoying every moment.”

Turning his attention to the Champions League, Donnarumma explained how difficult it is to win the trophy par excellence of European football. “Every year there are strong and organised teams; it is never easy to win the Champions League. You need skill, but also a bit of luck: when you get to the quarter-finals or semi-finals, it is always 50-50”. Donnarumma underlined the importance of the group: “We have a very strong team at PSG. When I arrived there were Messi, Mbappé and Neymar, but I think what really matters is team spirit. This year we are a young group and we need to gain experience. The group is not easy, but we have to think game by game”.

The former AC Milan goalkeeper also expressed a reflection on the obsession with winning the Champions League that is often felt in Paris: "When I arrived, I felt this pressure, but it shouldn't be like this. The Champions League is a different competition, with a unique environment, but we have to face it calmly, letting the pitch decide how far we can go."

Donnarumma: “I dream of winning the Champions League”

Regarding the pressure and criticism he receives, Donnarumma responded with the calm and maturity of someone who knows how to handle media attention: "I am very self-critical and I always analyze my performances. Lately, since I left Italy, I have been particularly targeted by criticism, but I have learned to handle it. Now I have broad shoulders."

Speaking about new Italian talents, Donnarumma had words of encouragement for Francesco Camarda, a young Milan talent: "I met him this year and I was struck by his humility. It's important that he keeps his feet on the ground. He has great potential and I'm sure he can go far."

On the dream of winning important titles, Donnarumma does not hide his ambition to win everything, including the Champions League and other trophies with the national team: "For me it is important to win as a team. Personal goals come later. One day I would like to win the Champions League and, for the Italians, it would be incredible to bring home another title with the national team."

Donnarumma: “Scudetto? Napoli favourites”

Donnarumma then offered a look at the Italian championship, which he finds competitive and balanced this year: "Napoli, now with Conte, has excellent chances. Without cups they could seriously aim for the Scudetto, but Milan, Inter and Juve are all in the running. It will be an open championship until the end".

Finally, a thought for the national team coach, Luciano Spalletti, with whom he finds himself in great harmony: "Spalletti is the perfect coach for Italy. He is very good at preparing matches and teaching football. Working with him is a real pleasure and I am convinced that he is the right person for the growth of our young group." In conclusion, Donnarumma he expressed a wish for the Golden Ball: "Whoever won it deserved it, but I hope that one day Mbappé can win it. He is a friend of mine, he is making history and I am sure that he will reach this goal too."
