Naples. There is anticipation for the Juvenile Court's preliminary investigations judge's decision regarding the fate of Luig DM, the 17-year-old who killed 19-year-old footballer Santo Romano in Piazza Capasso di San Sebastiano al Vesuvio on the night between Friday and Saturday.
The boy, a young scion of a family linked to the Aprea clan of Barra and already with a criminal record, reiterated his version of events, namely that he was defending himself from an attack and for this reason he fired the gun that he had previously purchased for 500 euros in a Roma camp.
Indeed, he added another detail, namely that he was hit by a stone, in addition to being kicked and pulled. His lawyer Luca Raviele has asked for his release also in light of a psychiatric assessment from 2022. Now it will be up to the investigating judge to decide.
The self-confessed murderer from Santo Romano continues to keep secret the name of his accomplice, the young man who was aboard the Smart car with foreign license plates, and his family, driven by the minor whose role in the incident is currently being investigated. The other friend who hosted him in a house in Barra, covering his escape, has already been identified.
After the crime, he spent the night in the bar area of Chiaia, with shocking posts on social media in which he mimes the gun gesture. He is socially dangerous, a psychiatric assessment established two years ago after a complaint from his mother. He was released from the juvenile penal institute of Nisida in May, according to his lawyer the mental pathology he suffers from would make him not accountable.
Santo Romano's family instead asked for justice: "The State must make those who kill like this pay", said the victim's mother "you can't go out at night with a gun in your pocket, with the intention of using it".
