Torre del Greco. He had fired a pistol at a young man with whom he had been arguing shortly before, but it was only thanks to the reaction of the target, who managed to dodge the shot, that another tragedy was averted.
And this morning, three of the protagonists of what had been yet another night of youthful madness, this time in the province of Naples, were arrested. State Police officers from the Torre del Greco Police Station executed a precautionary detention order issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Torre Annunziata Court at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
Three young men have been arrested on serious suspicion of attempted murder, and one of them is also accused of illegally carrying a concealed firearm, for events that occurred in Torre del Greco on September 8th.
The restraining order is the result of an in-depth investigative activity conducted by the agents of the Police Station, who intervened on the evening of September 8, 2024 together with the Scientific Police in III Vico Giardino del Carmine, where gunshots had been reported.

The pursuit and punitive expedition between Piazza Martiri d'Africa and the city center
The investigations, supported by the viewing of municipal and private video surveillance images, allowed us to reconstruct the events. The episode was caused by a violent aggression which took place in Piazza Martiri d'Africa, an area of nightlife, which triggered a subsequent punitive expedition through the streets of the centre of Torre del Greco.
One of those arrested, incited by his accomplices, allegedly fired a gunshot at a young man involved in the previous attack, missing him.
Thanks to the testimonies collected and the analysis of surveillance images, the investigators were able to identify those responsible. During searches of the homes of the suspects, the weapon used was found and seized, a 6,35 caliber pistol with a serial number erased and a magazine containing three bullets, as well as the clothing worn during the contested events.

It is incredible how young people can get to such acts of violence. Unfortunately the situation in the cities is increasingly worrying. I hope that the authorities take serious measures to prevent similar episodes in the future.
