A tragedy has shocked the community of Cancello Scalo. Lucia Sarraino, 41, died following a terrible road accident that occurred on the morning of October 28. The woman, while she was busy doing her job of handing out flyers, was hit by a Lancia Y driven by a 26-year-old criminal from Moiano.
The impact, which occurred at dawn on the road connecting Cancello Scalo to the Gaudello district of Acerra, was violent. Law enforcement, who responded to the scene along with two ambulances, found Lucia in critical condition. Her injuries, including massive internal bleeding, a fractured pelvis, and a brain injury, left her with no chance of survival.
The driver of the Lancia Y, a young man with a criminal record, was located and charged with vehicular homicide and failure to render aid. According to an initial reconstruction of events, the man attempted to flee after the accident, but the Carabinieri investigation, coordinated by Marshal Davide Rapuano, quickly located him.

Lucia Sarraino's body was seized and subjected to an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The entire community of Sant'Agata dei Goti, where the victim was originally from, is shocked by this tragic loss. Friends and relatives remember Lucia as a sunny and hard-working person.
