In the beating heart of Naples, the Domus Ars will be the stage for a major musical event, with the great American vibraphonist Mark Sherman and the saxophonist Eric Daniel performing on Wednesday 20 November 2024. Both world-famous artists, they will be special guests of the Cappuccio Collective Smooth, an ensemble from Campania renowned for its unmistakable mix of smooth jazz and Mediterranean sound.
Mark Sherman and the Collective Smooth Hood
Mark Sherman, renowned for his vigor and sophisticated improvisation, is recognized as one of the world's most extraordinary vibraphonists. The 67-year-old New Yorker, whose career includes collaborations with legends such as Natalie Cole and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, will bring his talents to the stage at Domus Ars. He will be accompanied by the Cappuccio Collective Smooth, composed of Annina Galiano (vocals), Cristina Massaro (piano and keyboards), Paki Palmieri (percussion), and Mino Berlano (bass), under the direction of guitarist and composer Mimmo Cappuccio.
Eric Daniel: The Touch of the Charismatic Saxophonist
Alongside Sherman, the evening's other guest star, Eric Daniel, known for his numerous collaborations with world-renowned artists such as Stevie Wonder, Zucchero, and Andrea Bocelli, will round out the lineup of distinguished guests. With his unmistakable style, Daniel has enriched the international music scene and will further enhance the Neapolitan concert. The concert represents a significant milestone in the Cappuccio Collective Smooth's fall live tour and is the precursor to the release of a new album, which will feature contributions from the great Brazilian drummer Ramon Montagner. The ensemble, already known for its participation in the Jazz in Campo Music Festival, stands out for its sonic imagery that blends innovation and tradition, offering audiences a rich listening experience.
