The deputy of Alleanza Verdi Sinistra, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, announced that he was the victim of attacks and threats while he was in the Rione Sanità in Naples this morning in the company of Liudmyla Skliar, the Ukrainian woman who was injured during a shooting in the neighborhood on November 5, 2021, while she was in a shop to buy chocolates for her son.
"Law enforcement intervention prevented the worst," a statement reads. While Borrelli was with the woman, some people approached them, shouting that "infamous people" were unwelcome in the neighborhood. Two women, in particular, repeatedly insulted him and attempted to attack him.
The situation escalated, with threats and attempts to approach the MP, to the point that the police deemed it necessary to escort him out of the neighborhood for security reasons.
"We will not be intimidated by the arrogance and violence of the Camorra culture and criminality, which unfortunately still find support in large parts of our city.

What happened this morning is extremely serious: part of the neighborhood chose to celebrate a very young victim yesterday, Emanuele Tufano, who died in a shootout between youth gangs, while at the same time they urged Ludmilla and I to leave the neighborhood, considering us 'infamous'.
"This term, in the criminal code, is reserved for those who report and collaborate with the authorities," the MP declared. "In this neighborhood the situation is now out of control, with an increasingly suffocating criminal presence.
For this reason, I renew my request for a constant police presence, to rid the neighborhood of crime. I will continue to support Ludmilla and all the innocent victims of crime."
