The Naples DDA has in fact hit today 15 members of the De Luca Bossa-Minichini clan who have been in conflict with the De Micco De Martino clan for years for the control of illegal activities in Ponticelli and the surrounding area.
And in fact this morning, on behalf of the District Attorney of Naples, the Carabinieri of the Cercola Tenancy executed a precautionary custody order against 15 people, by order of the GIP of the Court of Naples and at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate.
Of the suspects, 12 were transferred to prison and 3 were placed under house arrest. The charges concern extortion and attempted extortion aggravated by mafia methods.
They demanded protection money from car thieves and pushers
According to investigators, the crimes in question would have involved requests for bribes to the detriment of people involved in car theft and drug dealing. The episodes, attributed to the De Luca-Bossa-Minichini clan, would have taken place in the territories of Cercola and Ponticelli, where the association is believed to be particularly active.
The clan, which has dominated the criminal scene in the area for years, is said to have used the intimidating power of its name to consolidate control over the territory. The operation represents a further step in the complex war against the Camorra, in an area that has long been the scene of bloody clashes between rival clans for control of illegal activities.
Last month, rivals of the DeMicco DeMartino clan and today it was the turn of the De Luca Bossa-Minichini.
