Naples. Lido Mappatella, the popular public beach located at Rotonda Diaz, will soon host a free outdoor gym, accessible to all citizens. The facility, called Mappatella Gym, will be built thanks to a collaboration between the Marinelli-Gaeta Foundation and the Municipality of Naples.
It will be installed on the public beach of Rotonda Diaz, one of the most popular spots on the Caracciolo seafront, which has already been the subject of interventions by the Municipality to improve its usability.
As explained in a statement, the agreement signed today between the Foundation and the municipal administration brings to fruition the project of offering residents and tourists a comprehensive and compact training center capable of meeting the needs of every athlete, from beginners to expert athletes.

The gym will consist of free-standing and removable structures, including adjustable abdominal benches, equipment for training the chest and upper and lower limbs, as well as stations for parallel bars and lateral swings.
This initiative is made possible thanks to the donation of the Marinelli-Gaeta Foundation, represented by President Roberta Marinelli, who has long promoted projects to enhance the city of Naples. The Municipality, through the Department of Infrastructure with responsibility for the sea and the Integrated Water Cycle and Sea Protection Service, enthusiastically welcomed the initiative.
In recent years, the Municipality has improved the services of Lido Mappatella, installing showers, water fountains, toilets and offering free umbrellas, chairs and deck chairs. Furthermore, it has guaranteed access to people with motor disabilities, making JOB chairs available to promote inclusive bathing.
