The City of Naples won third place at the Urban Award for its sustainable mobility initiatives and its sponsorship of bike lane development. Now in its eighth year, the Urban Award is organized by Viagginbici.com and Luxurybikehotels.com, in collaboration with the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI).
The award ceremony took place during the 41st National Assembly of ANCI in Turin, in the presence, among others, of the journalist and writer Marino Bartoletti, ambassador of the award, and of Vittorio Brumotti, correspondent of Strip the News and pioneer of sustainable cycling.
Maria Grazia Falciatore, Chief of Staff, accepted the award for Naples. The jury particularly recognized the city administration's commitment to promoting cycling routes, including through projects like "Adopt a Bike Path," which engage and empower citizens, helping to foster a culture of sustainable mobility.

"We are investing in mobility on multiple fronts, from strengthening public transportation with new subway lines to promoting two-wheeled mobility," said Mayor Manfredi. "In Naples, we also face specific challenges, but we have a comprehensive program to expand bike lanes, with 38 kilometers of new routes planned in the eastern, western, and northern areas.
Maintaining and managing existing infrastructure is also essential, and agreements with private companies also help us in this, as their contribution is crucial to achieving this essential component of sustainable mobility, which the city greatly needs.
