Yesterday afternoon, the State Police arrested a 47-year-old of Chinese origin, illegally residing in Italy and with specific criminal records, for illicit possession of narcotics and resisting a public official.
An officer from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, off duty, passing by Via Carriera Grande at the corner of Via Alfonso D'Aragona, noticed the suspect handing over something to a person in exchange for money.

The officer kept the subject under surveillance and immediately alerted his colleagues at the police station, who promptly intervened and detained the suspect, not without difficulty. During the search, the man was found in possession of six bottles of methadone and 190 euros in banknotes of various denominations, likely the proceeds of the illegal activity. He was consequently arrested.
